Wine Advocate-Parker :
The dark ruby-colored 1999 Corton-Renardes was harvested at 14.9% natural potential alcohol. (I almost made port, said Mme. Bize-Leroy.) A prodigious effort, it exhibits a nose of candied cherries, jammy strawberries, and blueberry jelly. On the palate, this magnificent wine is indescribably intense and powerful, yet is majestically harmonious and elegant. Loads of cherries and other assorted red fruits are intermingled with spices, fresh herbs, and hints of new oak in its velvety-textured, full-bodied character. This gem also possesses a stupendously long, pure, and supple finish. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2018. (8/ 2001)
