A supple Saint-Emilion red wine
At tasting, the Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2014 has a red colour with purple highlights. Its nose seems very closed a first, but with more intense scrutiny, there are notes of currant, blueberry and then a touch of sweetness. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a lovely acidity. This complex wine offers good cellaring potential. It is inded one of the best from the estate in recent years.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Grand-Corbin-Despagne was impressive from barrel and that continues to be the case now that this Saint Emilion is in bottle. The bouquet is quite sensual with layers of ripe redcurrant and raspberry fruit, well-integrated oak and just a hint of black truffle and smoke emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, well-judged acidity, harmonious and focused with bright black cherries and raspberry coulis on the vibrant and persistent finish. Bravoùthis is an excellent Grand-Corbin Despagne (but I told you that back in April 2015).
