Description
A Fruity and Gourmand Côtes du Roussillon
Produced by the superb Domaine du Clos des Fées in the Côtes du Roussillon appellation, the Les Sorcières cuvée invites you to discover the fruity and gourmet expression of Roussillon wines.
The blend of the Les Sorcières 2017 from the Clos des Fées estate combines the complexity and concentration of old-vine Grenache (30%) and Carignan (20%) with the spicy vivacity of Syrah (50%), from vines aged 25 years at least.
The vines are planted on great clay-limestone soils that lend a unique identity to these grape varieties.
Following a manual harvest of the grapes at an ideal stage of phenolic maturity, pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures is carried out in stainless steel vats with regular pump-overs. The maceration takes between 15 to 21 days, and favours a gentle extraction. The wines are matured in tanks on fine lees for 8 months. Sulfur is added minimally during maturation and bottling.
The product of a very promising vintage for the Roussillon region, the Les Sorcières 2017 displays a very beautiful fruity profile and fresh black fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine offers explosive fruit and a deliciously silky and generous structure. A “safe bet” Roussillon offering an exceptional value for money, ready to drink today or keep until 2020-2021.
