2013 Latriciere-Chambertin Grand Cru (Pinot Noir)
David Duband's 2013 Latriciere-Chambertin Grand Cru is produced from 55-year old Pinot Noir vines. Following 14-month oak maturation (40% new oak), the Burgundy vintage reveals a garnet-red colour as well as delicate, complex scents of cassis, smoky, and roasted coffee. The palate is line with the nose, also complex, with lovely, long tannins.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2013 Latricières- Chambertin Grand Cru has a light bouquet with red cherries and wild hedgerow scents. I would like to see more fruit intensity develop here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and nicely judged acidity. This "flows" more than the Clos-de-la-Roche and offers a pleasing fleshy finish that lingers nicely. I might actually pick David's Latricières-Chambertin over his Chambertin this year.
