Description
A fruity and structured Sauternes
The property
The property Chateau Guiraud is one of the must-see properties in the south of the Sauternes region near Bordeaux, and was classified as a 1st classified Growth of Sauternes in 1855 . This great name of the appellation in Sauternes has been carried since its creation by a pioneering spirit. Since 1996, the estate has been committed to biodiversity and in 2011 will obtain Organic Agriculture certification.
The vineyard
On these 85 hectares of sandy gravel and clayey gravel, the vines of sauvignon blanc and semillon are cultivated with the utmost care.
Product description
The G of Château Guiraud is the second wine of the estate
Blending
The G of Château Guiraud is made from Sauvignon Blanc (50%) and Semillon (50%)
Vinification and maturing
Following the manual harvest, the perfectly ripe berries are transferred to vats (20%) and barrels (80%) for a fermentation of about 3 weeks. The G de Guiraud is then aged in barrels for 7 months with stirring on the lees to develop the aromas and preserve the purity of the fruit
Tasting
Nose: notes of citrus and fruit.
Palate: balanced, ample and structured mouth revealing all the typicity of the Sauternes appellation.
