The estate
Founded in 1720 by Edme Champy, a cooper by trade, the Champy House is the oldest wine merchant house established in Beaune and the first Burgundian merchant-winemaker. Now owned by the AdVini group, Domaine Champy farms 29 hectares on the Côte de Beaune, particularly around Pernand-Vergelesses and the Corton hill. A pioneer of organic viticulture in Burgundy, the estate has 12 hectares certified or in conversion, including the prestigious Corton-Charlemagne and Corton Rognet.
The vineyard
The Chorey-les-Beaune vineyard is located immediately north of Beaune, close to Savigny, on either side of the Dijon–Beaune axis. This privileged geographical location allows the vines to benefit from optimal conditions for the expression of Pinot Noir.
Winemaking and aging
The Chorey-les-Beaune Village 2015 is vinified according to traditional Burgundian methods, allowing for the delicate extraction of Pinot Noir aromas and structure. Aging in oak barrels brings discreet woody notes that harmoniously complement the wine’s fruity profile.
