The refinement and richness of a Corsican white wine
The estate
Located in the high-altitude village of Ponte Leccia, Clos Venturi is one of Corsica’s newest estates, born in the early 2000s from the parceling of the best terroirs of the Domaine Vico, another property of Jean-Marc and Manu Venturi.
The vineyard
This Corse estate oversees a vineyard of around twenty hectares.
The wine
"Altare" is a vin de France white wine made from vines averaging 10 years old, planted on a terraced plot.
Winemaking and aging
Hand-harvested, the grapes are 100% destemmed before a 48-to-72-hour pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation takes place in large oak vats with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 14 months on fine lees in these vats, then 4 to 6 months in bottle before release.
Grape varieties
Biancu gentile, vermentinu, riminese, genovese, carcaghjolu blanc
