An Authentic Blanco Tequila from the Tequila Valley
Fortaleza, Excellence Since 1873
Founded in 1873 in Mexico's Tequila Valley, Fortaleza has upheld a family tradition of excellence for over 145 years. This artisanal distillery, now led by the Guillermo Sauza family, is distinguished by its ancestral methods: cooking in brick ovens, crushing with a volcanic stone tahona, natural open-air fermentation, and double distillation in copper stills. Using exclusively blue agave grown at 1,200 meters altitude and harvested after 7-8 years of maturation, Fortaleza produces tequilas of remarkable purity, free from additives, bottled in hand-blown glass bottles in Mexico.
Blanco Fortaleza, the Pure Expression of Agave
Blanco Fortaleza embodies the quintessence of blue agave in its purest form. This unaged tequila is crafted using ancestral methods unchanged for over a century. The agave piñas are slowly cooked in traditional brick ovens before being crushed by a volcanic stone tahona.
Fermentation occurs naturally in open wooden vats, allowing indigenous yeasts to reveal the full complexity of the terroir. Double distillation in traditional copper stills, fed by natural spring water from the Tequila Valley, preserves the aromatic integrity of this iconic expression. Each bottle reflects Fortaleza's artisanal commitment to authenticity and quality.
