Foursquare Distillery, founded in the heart of Barbados in 1996, is a family-run distillery embodying Barbadian rum at its finest. At the crossroads of tradition and quality, the brand, led by the Seale family—a dynasty of distillers whose origins date back to 1820—demonstrates the enduring nature of a unique expertise. Richard Seale, currently at the helm of the distillery, represents the fourth generation devoted to this passion. Their relentless pursuit of excellence has received repeated recognition, most notably with the prestigious title of "Distillery of the Year" in 2020 at the International Spirits Challenge.

Magisterium Exceptional Cask: a complex and refined blend

Magisterium is the twenty-sixth edition (Mark XXVI) of the prestigious Exceptional Cask Selection collection by Foursquare. This exceptional spirit is the result of a blend of rums distilled in both a copper double retort pot still and twin continuous columns, then aged for sixteen years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Magisterium is crafted from a trio of aged rums: a 16-year-old rum matured exclusively in bourbon casks, a second that spent three years in bourbon casks followed by thirteen years in oloroso sherry casks, and a third, aged nine years in bourbon casks before being further refined for seven years in oloroso sherry casks.
