Description
A red wine from Chassagne-Montrachet blending elegance, complexity, fruitiness and freshness
The estate
Founded in the late 2000s, the Au Pied du Mont Chauve estate showcases the expertise of the Burgundy region. Now led by Francine Picard, the estate spans a 35-hectare vineyard focused on prestigious terroirs. Farmed according to biodynamic principles, it stands out for its meticulous plot-by-plot approach and deep respect for the environment. The Picard family's aim is to produce wines of great precision, faithfully reflecting the identity of each Climat.
The vineyard
The "Concis des Champs" plot covers an area of 0.50 hectare within the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation. Situated at an altitude ranging from 220 to 325 metres, the vines, planted between 1970 and 2010, benefit from an ideal east to south-east exposure. The terroir is characterised by deep soils of silt and brown clay, lying on a subsoil rich in cherts and iron nodules, giving the wine a beautiful mineral energy.
