The estate

In the 1960s, Bruno and Marcello Ceretto took over the eponymous estate founded in 1930 by their father, Riccardo, in Alba in Piedmont. After a trip to Burgundy, the two brothers set out to expand the estate quickly and produce “crus” within this exceptional terroir in Italy.
In a genuine revolution for a region where the very notion of a cru had never existed, Bruno and Marcello Ceretto began a rigorous selection of the finest vineyards for great Italian red wines, in Barolo and Barbaresco, to produce high-quality Langhe wines.
Respect for tradition and terroir, combined with openness to innovation, are the guiding principles of this family estate. Between 1969 and 1982, four wineries were established and production was extended to include Moscato and a white wine.
Since the 1990s, the children of Bruno and Marcello Ceretto have joined the estate and carry on the tradition of this 160-hectare property, which spans 4 wineries and produces 17 different wines.

The wine

Certified organic, Barbera d’Alba Piana 2019 from the Ceretto estate is regarded as one of the most representative cuvées of the Barbera d'Alba D.O.C appellation. The first vintage of Barbera d’Alba Piana dates back to 1965.

Winemaking
Barbera d’Alba Piana 2019 from the Ceretto estate is vinified in stainless steel tanks to bring out the hallmark characteristics of Barbera: intense colour, high acidity and light to moderate tannins.
