The estate

Bodega Chacra welcomes you to the heart of the Río Negro region, at the southern tip of Argentina. It was Piero Incisa della Rocchetta who breathed life into this treasure in 2004. It all began at a tasting in New York, where one wine particularly caught his attention: a Pinot Noir from Río Negro. It was a true revelation for him, as he immediately recognised the immense potential of these terroirs: ungrafted vines dating back to 1932, massal selections, perfect climatic conditions… Piero Incisa della Rocchetta then took the helm of this exceptional corner of the world, determined to craft the wines he had always dreamed of, wines capable of capturing the taste of "a place on the planet", in his own words.

The vineyard

Bodega Chacra lies in the heart of the Río Negro region in Patagonia, an area born of the confluence of two rivers, the Limay and the Neuquén. From there, the land stretches towards the horizon, reaching plains and forests, at altitudes ranging from 290 to 330 metres. It is in this vast green haven that the estate flourishes, nestled within a natural setting of 24 hectares of vines. The entire estate is farmed organically and biodynamically.

The wine

Made from vines averaging 40 years of age and farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles, Chacra Chardonnay is the result of a collaboration between Bodega Chacra and Jean-Marc Roulot, a leading figure in Meursault.
