Characteristics and Tasting Notes of the Bourgogne Aligoté 2022 from Champy
Tasting Notes
Appearance
This white wine reveals a bright pale yellow colour, enhanced by lovely golden highlights.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet is delicately expressed, offering notes of white fruits such as pear, accompanied by a delicious touch of fresh grape juice.
Palate
On the palate, this cuvée offers beautiful minerality and great freshness. It stretches into a long, persistent finish, marked by an acidity that is both fruity and soft.
Food and Wine Pairings
Perfect as an aperitif, this white wine pairs wonderfully with seafood or grilled fish. It also goes perfectly with matured goat's cheeses, such as Charolais, as well as with traditional dishes from the region like snails, gougères or parsley-flavoured ham.
Serving and Cellaring
To fully enjoy this Bourgogne Aligoté 2022, it is recommended to serve it chilled, at a temperature between 9 and 12 °C. While particularly enjoyable in its youth, it also has ageing potential, allowing it to be kept until around 2028.
The Authentic Expression of Burgundy Terroir by Maison Champy
The Estate
Founded in 1720 by Edme Champy, Maison Champy is the oldest négociant house still active in Burgundy. Located in the heart of Beaune, this historic brand cultivates an estate of around 21 hectares. A pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture, it stands out for its exceptional architectural heritage. Since 2016, the estate has been owned by the AdVini group, led by Antoine Leccia, while technical direction remains in the hands of winemaker Dimitri Bazas, ensuring the continuity and excellence of the wines.
The Vineyard
The grapes for this Burgundy wine come from carefully selected plots on the estate, located in the villages of Pernand-Vergelesses and Volnay. The vines thrive on clay-limestone soils, particularly well suited to expressing the freshness and minerality typical of this grape variety.
Winemaking and Ageing
The production of this Bourgogne Aligoté 2022 follows traditional methods. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out through the action of natural yeasts. In order to preserve all the aromatic purity and liveliness of the fruit, ageing takes place entirely in stainless steel tanks.
Grape Variety
This cuvée is made exclusively from Aligoté.
