Juicy, full-bodied, with freshness, silky tannins, then a noticeably fiery finish.

Lovely mulled plum and blackberry fruit glides along a cleanly embedded graphite edge, while violet and anise details skirt along the edges. The finish picks up a tasty ganache coating while keeping the energy up. Rock-solid. Best from 2022 through 2040. 20,500 cases made.

This really does expand outwards in the mouth, with an excellent quality of juicy black fruit on display. This has more potential than the 2014 vintage — contrary to many other wines in this part of the Médoc. 4% Petit Verdot makes up the blend.

Perfumed red with so much presence and brightness. Flowers, currants and blueberries. Some citrus. Full body, firm and silky tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Very fine and vivid. Better in 2022.

The 2015 Beychevelle is more backward on the nose, with a greater proportion of black fruit compared to its peers. Well-defined, though tightly coiled at present. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry and licorice-tinged black fruit. It’s a little Saint-Estèphe-like in style, drier on the finish, but it lingers nicely in the mouth. Voluptuously styled, with layers of sweet, ripe, soft, luscious black and red fruits that start strong and keep on going. This is already a treat in your glass today. However, its best days are in the future. Drink from 2024–2050.

Deep ruby with purple reflections and discreet rim brightening. Herbal-spicy underlay, with dark forest berry fruit, a rather restrained bouquet. Juicy yet mineral with well-integrated tannins, black cherry, dark nougat and a delicate vegetal touch on the finish.

Made in a more flamboyant, lifted style than the 2016, the 2015 Château Beychevelle offers a beautiful, medium to full-bodied, sexy yet elegant style as well as perfumed notes of black cherries, plums, incense, spices, and dried flowers. Given the sweetness in its tannins as well as its purity of fruit, it can be enjoyed today yet will keep for 20+ years.

Sappy and fragrant red fruits, crayon and crushed roses, thoroughly charming and in its drinking window. Mouthwatering, finessed tannins, plenty of grilled cassis fruit, woodsmoke and leather, soft landing on the finish. Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2015 Beychevelle is quite closed and broody to begin, offering glimpses at tar and chargrill scents over a core of plum preserves, baked blackcurrants, and espresso, plus a touch of black olives. The medium-bodied palate is taut and muscular, with slowly evolving black fruits and earthy layers supported by ripe, grainy tannins, finishing with great persistence.

A lot of power for the cru, with a slight reductive tendency and some astringency in the tannins. It needs time; reassess the whole in five years.

It doesn’t open up instantly, but then reveals notes of very ripe, juicy fruit and spices. The palate is elongated, clean and dynamic, with silky, coated tannins.

A fresh, lively nose, very pure, marked by lovely red fruit and endowed with great saline finesse. The palate is caressing and racy, unfolding aromas more characteristic of Beychevelle—black fruit, graphite and chocolate.

Garnet red with purplish highlights. An intense, complex bouquet revealing fruity and varietal notes with hints of raspberry and cherry. On the palate, the wine opens with a delicious, refreshing attack. The body is supple, dense, and very elegant. The tannins slowly emerge and are in harmony with the structure. The latter provides freshness and carries the fruit nicely through to the finish. A seductive, compelling wine with excellent potential. One to watch.

An atypical personality in the Médoc universe, as Merlot forms the core of its blend. A few bottles are still available at the château, offering a chance to appreciate the high standards of Philippe Blanc’s work, who celebrates his thirtieth vintage here this year. Incense and smoky aromas, black-fruit flavors, airy tannins, and a persistent saline finish.

This elegant estate, with its views down to the Gironde estuary, has produced an excellent 2015. It is properly firm with tannins although this structure is well balanced with the ripe, stylish black-currant fruits and acidity. A juicy finish bodes well for the future. Drink this generous wine from 2025.
