Description

A complex and refined Margaux Second Cru Classé

The estate

This vineyard called "Hostein" in the 18th century was already at that time one of the most beautiful labels of the Médoc. At the head of Château Brane-Cantenac since 1992, Henri Lurton passionately continues the wine venture launched by his ancestors, by combining tradition with the modernity through infrastructures designed to amplify the identity of the wines from this exceptional terroir of the Margaux appellation.

The vineyard

Château de Brane-Cantenac is a Margaux wine made from a vineyard located on the Brane plateau, which contributes to the elegant and aromatic signature of the estate's wines. The Grand Vin is made from plots of old vines located on the 4th terrace with the most clayey gravel soils, on a historic terroir with an area of approximately 45 hectares.

The blend

Château Brane-Cantenac 2021 comprises a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), Merlot (22%), Cabernet Franc (2%), Carménère (1%) and Petit Verdot (1%).
