Description
The Typicity of a Grand Vin in Red from Fronsac
In 1998, Arnaux Roux-Oulié acquired a vineyard located in the Fronsac appellation, on the Right Bank of Bordeaux. With plenty of experience gained from his grandfather, Arnaud Roux-Oulié set forth to produce a great wine from the terroirs of Fronsac.
The Château Carlmagnus estate covers 15 hectares of vineyards, planted on fantastic clay-limestone soils. The property is planted with Merlot (90%), an emblematic red grape from the Right Bank of Bordeaux, as well as Cabernet Franc (10%).
Aided by the advice of the famous oenologist consultant Stephane Derenoncourt, the vinification was carried out without any chemical treatments and involved only indigenous yeasts. The extraction of the tannins was adapted to the characteristics of each plot.
A “collector’s vintage” from Château Carlmagnus,' the Château Carlmagnus 2018 is graced with a new label, designed by Arnaux Roux-Oulié, featuring the two World Champion stars earned by the French football team in 1998 and 2018. This 2018 vintage will be remembered as a great Fronsac wine from Château Carlmagnus.
