Description
A Fruity and Concentrated Barsac in the signature style of Doisy-Daëne
A Second Classified Growth of 1855, Château Doisy-Daëne is one of the most emblematic names of the Barsac appellation, located south of Bordeaux. Owned by the Dubourdieu family since 1924, Château Doisy-Daëne epitomises the excellence of the great sweet wines of Barsac.
Made of 100% Sémillon, the Château Doisy-Daëne 2018 reveals a typical expression of the great terroirs of Barsac. The Barsac plateau is home to a unique geological formation of clay sand soils called "the red sands of the Baracais", upon a layer of calcareous soils.
The Château Doisy-Daëne 2018 is a great reward for the efforts of the property's technical teams, who took 3 to 6 passes through the vineyards to harvest the fruit that had achieved the perfect stage of “noble rot."
The Château Doisy-Daëne 2018 reveals the signature style for which the estate has become known. The wine displays an intense golden-yellow colour in the glass. The nose is quite elegant, with beautiful aromas of citrus, apricot, peach, vanilla and hints of sweet spices. On the palate, the wine seduces with its structure and its aromatic richness, while developing great balance and energy, thanks to a sharp acidity maintained. The palate is quite persistent, with a long finish, full of freshness.
