Description
A collection of 6 fine Saint-Julien vintages in a limited edition box set
The estate
Château Lagrange is one of the iconic references in the Saint-Julien appellation. Emanating from ancient times, a Roman "Villa Rustica" was built on the estate. It was indeed the Order of the Templars that started the estate’s wine-growing activity. In the 18th century, Château Lagrange experienced a true golden age and ranked as a Third Cru Classé in the Official Classification of 1855. In 1983, Château Lagrange was acquired by the Japanese group, Suntory, headed by Keizo Saji. Following the significant renovation and investment programme, spearheaded by a dynamic team, Château Lagrange has reached the very top of fine Médoc wines.
The vineyard
Château Lagrange's exceptional vineyard spreads over 118 hectares of vines, in a single block. The vineyard benefits from a superb location, resting on two hills made of "Gunz" gravel. The vines are 45 years old on average. Enjoying a northern and southern exposure, they are planted on silico-gravelly soils with a clay-limestone subsoil. The vineyard enjoys a mild and maritime climate.
The wine
Château Lagrange unveils its latest innovation: the Coffret Miroir. This box set offers the unique opportunity to rediscover 6 vintages (2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015), identical to those aged in three-hundred-year-old oak barrels in the Collection Remarquable box set.
The blend
The 6 wines presented in this Château Lagrange Coffret Miroir box set comprise a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, which varies depending on the vintage.
