2014 Saint-Estèphe from Bordeaux

The 2014 Saint-Estèphe Ormes de Pez is 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Only 45% of new-wood barrels were used for this wine's ageing process, which improves the fruity aspect of this Saint-Estèphe. It displays a beautiful deep, dark colour. On the nose, the wine offers a very good aromatic density on black fruits mixed with delicate woody notes. On the palate, this Chateau Ormes de Pez wine carries a deep and chiselled tannic structure with a smooth character. The finish is long and the whole is well-crafted. This Saint-Estèphe has good ageing potential.
