Description
Conterno Fantino unveils a fresh and fruity Barbera d'Alba red wine
The estate
Founded in 1982 by winemaker, Claudio Conterno, and the oenologist, Guido Fantino, Conterno Fantino is an must-know reference among the finest Piedmont wines. Located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, the family estate cares for a vineyard that extends over 27 hectares of vines, certified in organic farming. Producing fine wines while constantly seeking to manage the vineyard with the utmost respect for the environment, Conterno Fantino's wines are the pure and refined expression of illustrious Barolo terroirs.
The wine
Conterno Fantino's Barbera d'Alba "Vignota" 2020 is made from vineyards located between 250 and 400 metres above sea level in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. Benefiting from a south-east and south-west exposure, these vines are planted on marl and limestone soils.
The vinification and ageing
The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. Maceration in horizontal stainless steel tanks for 8-10 days. Fermentation with wild yeasts. Aged in French oak barrels.
The blend
This Barbera d'Alba "Vignota" 2020 by Conterno Fantino is a 100% Barbera.
