Cordero di Montezemolo : Enrico VI 2009

Piedmont - Barolo - Red - 14.5° Cordero di Montezemolo Cordero di Montezemolo 2009 J1286/09
  • Parker : 94
  • J. Robinson : 15,5
The Cordero di Montezemolo Barolo Enrico VI shows a deep garnet red color. This austere and complex Barolo offers a delicately spiced bouquet, with notes of eucalyptus, licorice and cinnamon, accompanied by notes of mature fruits, such as cherries in liqueur, blackberries and prunes. On the palate, this Cordero di Montezemolo is powerful, yet fresh with light acidity and an extremely long finish.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
A flagship wine for the Villero cru in Castiglione Falletto, the 2009 Barolo Enrico VI is a delicious offering that is packed tight with dark fruit intensity and flavor. Earthy tones of underbrush and button mushroom are backed by blackberry, tobacco, leather and a playful touch of sweet cinnamon spice. The wine is opulent and sensual with soft fruit layers that act to cushion the power and structure that holds this beautiful tapestry together. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2035.
