The estate

Located in the village of La Morra, the Cordero Di Montezemolo estate is an iconic reference of the Langhe wine area, in the north of Piedmont in Italy.

The vineyard

Cordero Di Montezemolo watches over a vineyard comprised of nearly 51 hectares, situated in the exceptional terroirs of the Barolo appellation. The estate's wines are renowned well beyond the Italian borders for their complexity, power and great ageing potential.

The wine

Cordero di Montezemolo's Langhe Nebbiolo 2020 is a Piedmont wine made from grapes that stem from the estate's young vineyards located between La Morra, Alba and the Roero region.

The vines are below 6 or 7 years old and enjoy an array of different terroirs, altitudes and sun exposures. The soil is composed of silty clay, sand and trace elements.

The vinification and ageing

Hand-picked between the end of September and the beginning of October, the grapes are fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks for about 8 to 10 days. Settling, followed by malolactic fermentation that is partly carried out in steel tanks and partly in small French and Slavonian oak barrels. Aged for 4 to 5 months in steel tanks, followed by a further few months of ageing in the bottle before the wine is put on the market.

Colour

Bright, this wine is a concentrated and intense garnet colour.

Nose

Expressive, the nose combines fruity (plum, blackberry) and floral (violet) fragrances with subtle notes of tobacco, cocoa beans and sweet spices.

Palate

Full and seductive, the mouth reveals supple and velvety tannins.

Service

For an optimal tasting experience, serve at 16°C.

Storage

This Langhe wine can be kept in the cellar until at least 2030, enabling it to reveal its full range of aromas.
