The Elegance and Precision of a Burgundy Wine by Domaine de la Vougeraie
The Estate
Founded in 1999 by the Boisset family, Domaine de la Vougeraie is located in Premeaux-Prissey, in the heart of Burgundy, France. This 34-hectare estate brings together a winegrowing heritage patiently built up since the 1960s. Now led by Sylvie Poillot, the estate stands out for its deep commitment to organic farming and biodynamics. Domaine de la Vougeraie is dedicated to revealing the purity of its terroirs through environmentally friendly practices, establishing itself as an essential reference in the region.
The Vineyard
The Bourgogne Pinot Noir "Terres de Famille" 2024 comes from a mosaic of plots spread across the region's two great slopes. One third of the grapes come from the Côte de Nuits and two thirds from the Côte de Beaune, including named vineyard sites such as Condemaine, En Vevey and Monpoulain. The vineyard is planted exclusively using massale selection and cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics, thereby promoting soil vitality and the natural expression of the vines.
The Vintage
The year 2024 was marked by unusual weather conditions that resulted in a very low-volume harvest. The growing cycle led to a late harvest, which began on September 20. These weather conditions allowed the berries to develop a lovely concentration.
Winemaking and Aging
For this Bourgogne Pinot Noir "Terres de Famille" 2024, the harvest is done entirely by hand. The bunches are destemmed, left uncrushed and transferred to vats by gravity. Vinification is carried out using indigenous yeasts, beginning with a five-day cold pre-fermentation maceration. The vatting lasts twenty days with gentle daily pumping-over, followed by vertical pressing. Finally, the wine is aged for ten months in oak barrels, then refined for one month in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
Grape Variety
This wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir (100%).
