Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Puligny-Montrachet Village 2024 from Domaine Faiveley
Tasting
Colour
Pale straw-yellow hue with green highlights that reflect the freshness and youth of the wine.
Nose
The nose opens with notes of citrus and exotic fruit, supported by a floral touch and a subtle hint of toast, in a refined and precise aromatic register characteristic of the white wines of Puligny-Montrachet crafted by the estate.
Palate
The palate reveals remarkable tension, driven by a vibrant acidity that balances a rich concentration of fruit. This dynamic gives the wine a sense of energy and freshness, underpinned by a crisp mineral structure and a lovely aromatic persistence.
Food and Wine Pairing
This wine will pair beautifully with noble fish such as fillet of sole or turbot coated in a butter sauce, as well as shellfish and crustaceans such as scallops, lobster or langoustines. It also goes very well with white meats in a creamy sauce, roast free-range poultry, or refined Asian dishes with citrus and sweet spice notes. As for cheeses, it will be delighted by soft bloomy-rind cheeses such as Brie or Camembert, or by fresh goat's cheeses.
Serving and Cellaring
This Puligny-Montrachet Village 2024 is best enjoyed chilled, served at around 12 to 14°C, in a glass that allows its mineral tension and aromatic complexity to unfold.
A Taut and Precise Puligny-Montrachet from Domaine Faiveley
The Estate
Domaine Faiveley was founded in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in Burgundy, by Pierre Faiveley. A family business for seven generations, it is now run by Erwan and Eve Faiveley. The estate cultivates approximately 120 to 125 hectares spread across the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise, including numerous Grands Crus, Premiers Crus and monopoles. Committed to a pioneering environmental approach, Domaine Faiveley has converted its entire vineyard to organic farming, certified since 2025.
The Vineyard
This Puligny-Montrachet Village comes from a 0.48-hectare plot set in a particularly stony limestone terroir, renowned as ideal for Chardonnay. Domaine Faiveley carries out all the vineyard work on this site, located between Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune.
The Vintage
The 2024 vintage unfolded in a difficult climatic context in Burgundy, marked by incessant rain throughout the growing cycle and strong downy mildew pressure, which made managing the vineyard particularly demanding that year.
Winemaking and Ageing
The winemaking of the Puligny-Montrachet Village 2024 reflects the estate's philosophy, geared towards preserving the freshness and mineral expression of the terroir, although the precise technical details of this cuvée's ageing have not been made public.
Grape Variety
This wine is made from Chardonnay, the emblematic grape variety of the Puligny-Montrachet appellation.
