Description
The Intensity and Complexity of a Great Burgundy Wine
The Estate
Founded in 1885 and located in Volnay, Domaine Henri Boillot is a key reference in Burgundy. Historically rooted in the Côte de Beaune, the estate has distinguished itself through its rigor and the exceptional quality of its terroirs. Today, the estate is run by Henri Boillot and his son Guillaume Boillot, who passionately carry on the family's expertise. The vineyard is managed with a rigorous, environmentally respectful approach, aiming to express the purest identity of each parcel. Domaine Henri Boillot is thus renowned worldwide for wines that combine precision, purity and elegance.
The Vineyard
This iconic Grand Cru from the Côte de Nuits lies mainly within the commune of Chambolle-Musigny, with a small portion extending into Morey-Saint-Denis. The Bonnes-Mares vineyard rests on complex soils, combining red clay-rich earth with white limestone marls. This geological diversity gives the vines deep roots, allowing them to produce wines of great richness and remarkable structure.
Winemaking and Aging
The making of this 2023 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is carried out with meticulous care. After manual harvesting and rigorous berry sorting, the winemaking is carried out with precision to preserve the brightness of the fruit and the expression of the terroir. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, which lend it depth and aromatic complexity while respecting its natural balance.
Grape Variety
100% Pinot Noir.
