Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of Pouilly-Fuissé "Vignes de la Côte" Village 2022 from Domaine Jules Desjourneys
Tasting
Appearance
The wine reveals a bright lemon-yellow hue with a beautiful luminosity.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with dominant notes of ripe white fruits, such as apple and peach, accompanied by touches of citrus. Subtle nuances of sweet spices and beeswax further enrich the whole.
Palate
Ample and unctuous, the palate offers a silky texture. This richness is perfectly balanced by a precise acidity, lending the wine a beautiful tension and a long-lasting finish.
Food and wine pairings
This gastronomic white wine pairs wonderfully with fine fish in sauce, such as turbot or John Dory with beurre blanc, as well as pan-seared scallops. It also complements poultry in cream sauce or cheeses such as a young Comté or a dry goat cheese beautifully.
Serving and cellaring
For an optimal tasting of Pouilly-Fuissé "Vignes de la Côte" Village 2022, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature of approximately 12°C.

The estate
Located in La Chapelle-de-Guinchay, on the border between Beaujolais and Burgundy, the estate was officially founded in 2007. At its helm, current owner Fabien Duperray, a former merchant for prestigious estates, implements a radical and streamlined vision of winegrowing at Domaine Jules Desjourneys. Spanning around twenty hectares, the property stands out for its biodynamic approach, very low yields and soil work carried out with horses. The estate is today recognised for its wines of great precision, faithfully reflecting the identity of their terroirs.
The vineyard
The cuvée comes from a plot located within the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. This high-altitude terroir, reaching around 400 metres, extends from the base to the top of the Fuissé hillside. Cultivated biodynamically and certified organic, the old vines benefit from meticulous care, without any chemical inputs, allowing grapes of great purity to be obtained.
Winemaking and aging
The winemaking of Pouilly-Fuissé "Vignes de la Côte" Village 2022 draws inspiration from the methods of the Burgundian masters. Fermentations are rigorously controlled to allow the aromas to develop fully. Aging takes place entirely in oak barrels, of which about 20% are new. These are first rinsed with hot water in order to soften the tannic impact of the wood and preserve the finesse of the fruit.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay
