Description
The richness and balance of a Barbera d'Alba wine
The estate
Domenico Clerico is an Italian winery that was founded in 1977 and is an essential reference among fine Piedmont wines. At the time, Domenico acquired a parcel of vines in Bussia, a vineyard located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. 1979 marked the estate's first vintage.
Domenico Clerico now reigns over a 21-hectare vineyard in the Barolo appellation in Piedmont, northern Italy. Following his death in 2017, Oscar Arrivabene and Giulana Clerico took over the running of the estate. Each wine exudes an alluring precision and aromatic expression.
The vineyard
Trevigne by Domenico Clerico is a Barbera d'Alba wine made since 1989. The 2019 vintage comes from three vineyards located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba and enjoying a western, north-eastern and southern exposure. This emblematic appellation is known for its wines whose fruity structure, balance and sweetness are the pure and refined expression of the king of grapes in Piedmont: Barbera.
Vinification and ageing
Maceration to extract the richness of the berries while preserving their natural freshness. Aged in oak barrels.
The blend
Domenico Clerico's Trevigne 2019 is a 100% Barbera.
