The estate

Founded in France in 1946 by Étienne Guigal, E. Guigal has established itself as an essential benchmark of the Rhône Valley. Today led by Philippe Guigal, who embodies the third generation, the estate stands out for its constant pursuit of quality and its respect for tradition. After consolidating an exceptional vineyard in the north of the region, the family fulfilled a long-standing dream by acquiring Château de Nalys in 2017, thereby marking its historic roots in the southern terroirs.

The vineyard

The estate extends over some fifty hectares in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. This terroir is divided into three distinct plots: La Crau, famed for its large rolled pebbles, Bois de Sénéchal, with its sandier soils, and Grand Pierre, characterised by its red sandstone and safres. The vineyard is the subject of meticulous attention in order to preserve the vitality of the soils and the authentic expression of the terroir.

Winemaking and aging

The berries are hand-picked and then rigorously sorted. Vinification is carried out with precision to gently extract colour and aromas. Aging then unfolds with care, allowing the tannic structure to be refined while preserving the brightness of the fruit.
