Nose
The nose opens with notes of violet and black cherry, accompanied by dark red fruits that bring freshness and gourmandise.

Barbera d'Alba from La Morra, an Italian red balancing elegance and freshness
The estate
Founded in 1948 by Giuseppe Altare in La Morra, in the Langhe, Elio Altare owes its current renown to Elio, who profoundly modernised viticultural and winemaking practices from 1976 onwards, inspired by a trip to Burgundy. Now run by Silvia Altare, who officially took over the estate and the supervision of its operations in 2016, the domaine upholds a demanding philosophy combining viticulture free from chemical inputs, indigenous yeasts and no filtration. Elio Altare remains a benchmark of Piedmont and of the "Barolo Boys" generation.
The vineyard
This Barbera d'Alba comes exclusively from plots in La Morra, planted on calcareous, very sandy soils. The vines, between ten and thirty years old, benefit from east and north-east exposures that preserve the freshness of the grapes while allowing satisfactory ripeness, giving the wine a distinctive combination of warmth and tangy tension.
Vinification and ageing
The Barbera d'Alba 2025 is vinified following a short three- to four-day maceration in temperature-controlled rotary tanks, allowing a precise and controlled extraction. The wine is then aged for five months in used French barriques, adding structure and warmth without overpowering the fruit. The entire process is carried out without exogenous yeasts, filtration or fining, in keeping with the estate's natural philosophy.
Grape variety
100% Barbera.
