Description
The refinement and aromatic richness of a Barolo wine
The estate
The history of the Elio Altare winery dates back to 1948, when Joseph Altare acquired 5 hectares of vineyards in La Morra, with the ambition of producing fine Piedmont wines.
Following a trip to Burgundy in 1976, Elio Altare, Joseph's grandson, gradually modernised the estate's practices, regarding both the winemaking practices and the ageing. A major player in the reputation of the estate beyond its borders, Elio Altare produces wines that harmoniously blend elegance, finesse and balance.

Elio Altare's Cerretta Vigna Bricco Riserva 2016 is a Barolo wine made from vineyards located in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba. The vines are 20 years old on average and are planted on chalky and calcareous soils.
Vinification and ageing
