Description
The elegance and aromatic finesse of a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru from Jean Chartron
The property
Founded in 1859 by a cooper, Jean-Edouard Dupard, the Domaine Jean Chartron oversees an exceptional vineyard, spread over the grand crus of Puligny, in Burgundy.
The vineyard
The Domaine Jean Chartron, managed by Jean-Michel Chartron, today stretches across 14 hectares of uncertified organic vineyards. The vineyards are classified as Premier Cru and Grand Cru, making them an exceptional part of Burgundy's winegrowing heritage.
The wine
Folatières 2019 from Domaine Jean Chartron is a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru wine that stems from a vineyard planted on a clay-limestone soil.
Winemaking and ageing
La fermentation s’opère en fûts de chêne (30% de fûts neufs, 70% de fûts de 1,2,3,4 et 5 ans). L’élevage sur lies fines est d’une durée 12 mois en fûts puis 4 mois en cuves. Fermentation takes place in oak casks (30% new casks, 70% aged 1,2,3,4 and 5 years old).
Blend
Chardonnay (100%)
