A Second Wine expressing the terroir of Margaux with elegance and boldness
The estate
The winemaking history of Château Giscours truly began in 1552 under the impetus of Pierre de Lhomme, although the origins of the site date back to 1330. Located in the heart of the Bordeaux region, this historic estate has experienced a true renaissance since its acquisition in 1995. Today, the Albada Jelgersma family, with Alexander van Beek as CEO, oversees the destiny of this great name. This prestigious estate stands out for its exceptional terroir and celebrates with this vintage thirty years of passionate stewardship, confirming its essential status.
The vineyard
The estate extends over an exceptional terroir within the renowned Margaux appellation. The production area covers 95 hectares, resting on soils composed of deep Garonne gravels. The vineyard is managed according to regenerative agriculture principles, promoting biodiversity and soil health through cover crops and massal selection from the oldest vines.
The wine
La Sirène de Giscours is the Second Wine of Château Giscours.
The vintage
The harvest for this year took place from September 3 to 25, 2025. This vintage symbolizes three decades of dedication from the owning family and reflects the long-term agronomic work carried out by the estate’s teams. The conditions made it possible to craft a wine with a bold and distinctive expression.
Vinification and ageing
The berries undergo extremely rigorous manual and optical sorting. Fermentation then takes place in concrete and stainless steel tanks, followed by a 35-day maceration at a controlled temperature of 28 °C. Finally, the wine benefits from careful ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new, to refine its structure.
Grape varieties
La Sirène de Giscours 2025 is the result of a blend of cabernet sauvignon (86%), merlot (7%) and petit verdot (7%).
