Characteristics and tasting notes of the Mâcon-Villages "Grange Magnien" 2025 by Louis Jadot
Tasting
Appearance
The wine reveals a pale, limpid straw-yellow hue, enhanced by delicate greenish highlights and a beautiful brilliance.
Nose
Fresh and expressive, the nose releases aromas of white flowers such as acacia and hawthorn, mingled with scents of white-fleshed fruits like pear and Golden apple. Subtle mineral notes and a light honeyed touch further enrich this bouquet.
Palate
Lively and harmonious, the palate charms with its freshness and light body. It unfolds delicious notes of lemon and green apple, supported by a balanced acidity and a discreet minerality, extending into a crisp and refreshing finish.
Food and wine pairings
Ideal with seafood, this white wine pairs wonderfully with scallops, grilled white fish or a seafood cassoulet. It also perfectly complements white meats in creamy sauces, lightly spiced poultry such as duck curry, as well as delicate cheeses like Beaufort or everyday dishes such as a croque-monsieur.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate the freshness of the Mâcon-Villages "Grange Magnien" 2025, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 6 and 8 °C. This wine is designed to be enjoyed in its youth, during the first few years following bottling.
The brilliance and purity of a white wine from the Mâconnais by Louis Jadot
The estate
Officially founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the Louis Jadot House is a landmark institution of Burgundy. Based in the heart of Beaune, it shines around the world while preserving a strong local presence. Now owned by the American Kopf family, its operational management is entrusted to the Gagey family. With an extensive vineyard spanning numerous appellations, the House stands out for its deep commitment to a large-scale environmental transition, combining organic practices and climate adaptation to express the authenticity of each terroir.
The vineyard
This wine from the Mâcon-Villages appellation comes from the southern part of the region, at the gateway to Beaujolais. The vines thrive on sun-drenched hillsides with limestone and marl soils, offering ideal conditions to combine fruit maturity and mineral tension. This terroir benefits from the sustainable viticultural practices implemented by the House to preserve soil vitality and the freshness of the berries in the face of climatic challenges.
Winemaking and aging
In order to preserve the brightness of the fruit and the liveliness of the grape variety, the winemaking and aging of the Mâcon-Villages "Grange Magnien" 2025 are carried out entirely in stainless steel tanks. The complete absence of oak barrels helps maintain optimal aromatic purity and great freshness, while allowing precise control of fermentation temperatures.
Grape variety
This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay (100%).
