The authentic and mineral expression of a white wine from the Côte de Beaune
The estate
Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the Louis Jadot House is a leading institution in Burgundy. Historically stemming from a family of winegrowers since 1827, this estate has developed a unique model combining the activities of négociant and producer. The domaine today oversees a vast vineyard, a large part of which is classified as Premier and Grand Cru. Currently owned by the Kopf family, the House perpetuates its heritage and its commitment to the authentic expression of terroirs.
The vineyard
Located in the Côte de Beaune, the Pernand-Vergelesses appellation enjoys a privileged geographical setting. The "Les Combottes" plot, from which this wine is produced, lies at altitude and benefits from a beautiful east-facing exposure. The vines flourish on complex soils composed of clay and limestone marls. Committed to a strong environmental approach, the domaine completed in 2024 the transition of this vineyard to certified organic viticulture, thereby promoting soil health and the natural management of diseases.
The vintage
The year's growing cycle was shaped by particular weather conditions and specific ripening dynamics, bringing variations unique to this harvest year.
Winemaking and aging
The making of the Pernand-Vergelesses Village "Les Combottes" Famille Gagey 2024 is based on a philosophy of minimal intervention in order to preserve the expression of the fruit. Fermentations are favoured with indigenous yeasts, accompanied by rigorous temperature management. The aging extends over a period of twelve months before release, with a very moderate and measured use of new oak barrels, adapted to the characteristics of the year so as not to mask the identity of the terroir.
