Louis Latour : Corton Grand cru "Clos de la Vigne au Saint" 2015

Pleasant and approachable, the Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne has forward raspberry fruit with a charming floral cast. The texture is lively and fresh, with surprisingly crisp acidity balancing the ripeness of the year. The grapes come from the small climat at the base of the hill, down the slope from the climat Chaumes—there are only four owners, of which Latour is the largest. The clay content in the soil here gives fleshy, supple wines, delivering a lovely wine for drinking now and for mid-term cellaring.

More delicate than the grancey, and more floral too, this is a supple, slender Corton with immediately appealing youthful charm.
