Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Corton Grand Cru 2024 from Rapet Père & Fils
Tasting
Colour
This Corton Grand Cru displays an intense, brilliant garnet colour, typical of the great Pinot Noirs from the hill of Corton, clear and deep.
Nose
The nose is dense and complex. In its youth, it expresses notes of spiced fruit, blackcurrant and kirsch, before evolving over time towards aromas of forest floor, truffle and leather, characteristic of great Corton wines that have reached maturity.
Palate
On the palate, this wine is rich, powerful and fleshy, underpinned by melted tannins and a remarkable richness. The structure is ample and distinguished, offering both volume and generosity, for a wine that is at once complete and balanced.
Food and Wine Pairings
This Corton Grand Cru is ideally paired with poultry in sauce such as duck à l'orange, noble red meats with elaborate sauces, as well as game such as jugged hare or venison cuts. It also pairs very well with mature cheeses, and can be enjoyed with slow-cooked white meat dishes served with mushrooms.
Serving and Cellaring
The Corton Grand Cru 2024 is best served between 16 and 18°C, after decanting for one to two hours to allow the wine to open up fully. It is recommended to wait before opening it so that it gains in depth and complexity, for optimal enjoyment until around 2031.

The Estate
Rapet Père & Fils is a family estate located in Pernand-Vergelesses, in Burgundy, with a long winemaking history. The estate extends over a vineyard spread across Pernand-Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton and Beaune. It is now run by Vincent Rapet and has built a solid reputation with its Corton and Corton-Charlemagne grands crus.
The Vineyard
The Pinot Noir vines behind this Corton are planted in the commune of Aloxe-Corton, on the hill of Corton.
Vinification and Ageing
The Corton Grand Cru 2024 is made from grapes harvested in small crates, followed by rigorous sorting. The tanks are filled by conveyor belt to preserve the integrity of the berries. Fermentation lasts around fifteen days, with regular pigeages to encourage gentle extraction. Ageing takes place in oak barrels, some of which are new, and racking is carried out with a bellows, without the use of a pump, in order to preserve all the finesse of the wine.
Grape Variety
This Corton Grand Cru is made from Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of the Corton Grand Cru appellation.
