It was in 1942 that Don Julio González, founder of the eponymous distillery Don Julio, spotted an opportunity in tequila production. Armed only with his devotion, he secured a loan through a businessman. Thus he opened his first distillery. Considering the agave as his own children, he rose at dawn each day to tend his fields. Each plant was harvested one by one to select only those agaves whose health and maturity were optimal.
An exceptional spirit
Don Julio 70 is the world’s first tequila Cristalino Añejo, created to celebrate the distillery’s 70th anniversary. Aged 18 months in American oak barrels and then charcoal-filtered, it marries the purity of a Blanco with the complexity of an Añejo. This cuvée embodies the innovative spirit of Don Julio González.
