Tasting
Appearance
A medium amber hue, neither too pale nor too dark, reflecting moderate ageing and a perfect balance between the freshness of sugar cane and the influence of oak.
Nose
Intense and enveloping. It immediately unveils superb empyreumatic notes of roasted coffee and toasted cocoa, enriched by indulgent nuances of stewed fruits, sweet spices and sugary hints.
Palate
The attack reveals an intense caramel that gracefully evolves towards flavours of stewed fruits and spices. The texture is round, smooth and generous, offering a beautiful fullness. The finish is persistent, soft and lingers long on warm tones.
Pairings and tasting moments
This rum shines alongside aged cheeses such as a 24-month Comté or an old Gouda. It pairs wonderfully with white meats with sweet-and-savoury accents, smoked fish or scallops with beurre noisette. For desserts, match it with 70% dark chocolate or a tiramisu. For an optimal tasting experience, serve it slightly below room temperature, ideally as an accompaniment to the main course.
Mixology
While excellent neat, its 49% structure works wonders in cocktails. It elevates a Daiquiri by bringing a beautiful aromatic evolution, fits perfectly into a Mai Tai or an Espresso Martini, and brilliantly reinterprets classics such as the Old Fashioned or the iconic Ti' Punch.

Now led by Grégory Vernant, Neisson has skilfully combined heritage and innovation. It holds a unique position as the only distillery to produce a certified organic rum. SouBwa: the authentic expression of amber rum aged in wood
SouBwa is an emblematic expression that perfectly illustrates the distillery's philosophy. This amber rum is crafted exclusively from fresh sugar cane juice, in accordance with local requirements. Its uniqueness lies in its ageing method, aptly named "élevé sous bois".
This Martinique rum rests in oak casks for a precise period of up to 25 months. This maturation period, carefully calibrated by the cellar masters, allows a beautiful aromatic complexity to develop while preserving the vibrant freshness of sugar cane that is characteristic of agricultural rums.
Bottled at 49%, SouBwa is the result of a meticulous blend and a low-intervention approach. It undergoes no addition of colouring, flavouring or excessive filtration, thereby guaranteeing remarkable purity and authenticity.
