Full-bodied and fleshy, the palate seduces with its creamy texture and generous curves. Carried by a beautiful mineral backbone, this rich and layered wine retains a remarkable fruity freshness that lingers long on the finish.

The pure and mineral expression of a great Condrieu wine
The estate
Officially founded in 1996 at the heart of Provence, Tardieu Laurent quickly established itself as an essential reference in the Rhône Valley. This micro-négociant is now led by its current owner, Michel Tardieu, supported by his children Bastien and Camille. With no vineyards of its own, the estate stands out for its rigorous philosophy: sourcing the finest grapes from very old vines through partner winegrowers, often committed to organic or biodynamic farming, in order to reveal the most authentic expression of each terroir.
The vineyard
This wine comes from the illustrious Condrieu appellation. The grapes are meticulously selected from six historic plots (Paton, Lys de Volan, la Bonnette, Rochecourbe, Les Rivoires and Merlant). With an average age of 50 years, the vines flourish on steep hillsides arranged in narrow terraces. The terroir is composed of arzelle, a complex soil blending decomposed granite, mica, schist and clay, which gives the wine its characteristic mineral backbone.
The vintage
2024 was marked by particularly demanding weather conditions. Following a spring characterised by high humidity and mild temperatures, the growing cycle came under significant fungal disease pressure, notably from mildew. These climatic challenges considerably reduced yields, but allowed the quality and character of the remaining healthy berries to be concentrated.
Winemaking and aging
The making of the Condrieu "Vieilles Vignes" 2024 is based on a minimal-intervention approach. Fermentation and aging take place over a period of nine to ten months in new and once-used French oak barrels, sourced from the prestigious forests of Allier and Tronçais. To preserve its full aromatic complexity, the wine is bottled without fining and with minimal filtration.
Grape variety
100% Viognier.
