A Douro Vintage Port of Exceptional Power and Complexity

Taylor's, Three Centuries of Excellence in the Douro

Founded in 1692, Taylor's remains one of the most prestigious Port houses, exclusively dedicated to this fortified wine. Based in the Douro region of Portugal, it owns exceptional quintas such as Vargellas and Terra Feita. Owned by Taylor, Fladgate & Yeatman since its inception, the House is led by Adrian Bridge. Taylor's stands out for its traditional winemaking methods in lagares, its blends of indigenous grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz, and its ability to produce exceptional vintages. The brand embodies the excellence of Port in the Duriense region, perpetuating an ancestral know-how recognized worldwide.

The 1994 Vintage Port, a Legendary Vintage

Taylor's 1994 Vintage Port is born from the blend of grapes from the quintas of Vargellas and Terra Feita, two exceptional estates benefiting from distinct microclimates. The 1994 growing year was marked by an exceptionally wet winter, resulting in very low yields—up to a 75 % drop in certain areas. The dry, warm growing season that followed, without extreme summer heat, allowed for an evenly ripe harvest with musts rich in sugar, anthocyanins, and aromas. This vintage received exceptional scores from the international press, notably 100 points from James Suckling of Wine Spectator and 100 points from the World of Fine Wine, confirming its status as a porto vintage legend.
