In keeping with the signature style of this cuvée, this white wine will pair beautifully with delicate fish in sauce, a pike quenelle, or poultry served with a morel cream sauce. It will also complement noble crustaceans such as lobster or langoustines wonderfully, as well as cooked pressed cheeses like Comté or Beaufort.

The authentic expression of a Pouilly-Fuissé terroir

The estate

Founded in 1990 by Jean-Marie Guffens, the négociant house Verget is based in Sologny, in the heart of the Mâconnais in Burgundy. A true model of winemaking "haute couture", this house is dedicated exclusively to producing white wines. True to its motto that the best wines come from the best grapes, the house rigorously selects its supplies from partner winegrowers. Today, Jean-Marie Guffens still leads the estate, supported since 2006 by oenologist Julien Desplans, with whom he co-manages the vinifications to reveal all the purity of Burgundy's terroirs.

The vineyard

This white wine comes from the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. The grapes are sourced from vines planted on hillsides with clay-limestone soils, typical of the villages of Vergisson and Fuissé. The name of the cuvée reflects the producer's philosophy, aiming to shine a light on highly qualitative plots that were not selected during the recent classification of premiers crus within the appellation.
