The estate
For over 250 years, Weingut Dönnhoff has tended a unique terroir of precipitous slopes along the banks of the Nahe. Vintage after vintage, Helmut Dönnhoff crafts great German wines from a mosaic of sites, expressing the complexity, purity and multiple nuances of Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. Recognized across borders as among the greatest white wines in the world, Weingut Dönnhoff’s wines captivate with their elegance, aromatic richness, freshness and exceptional minerality that blossoms after several decades of aging.
The vineyard
Covering 25 hectares, Weingut Dönnhoff’s holdings are distinguished by a multiplicity of soils and exposures, offering ideal conditions for the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness. Farmed with meticulous care, vines aged between 20 and 70 years yield great German wines from low but very high-quality yields.
