Tasting
Appearance
The wine reveals a deep red color with brilliant violet highlights.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens with intense notes of ripe black fruits, black cherry, and blackberry, subtly intertwined with hints of sweet spices, garrigue, and licorice.
Palate
The attack is full and generous, revealing a velvety texture supported by very fine tannins. The mid-palate unfolds with indulgent flavors of stewed red fruits and black pepper, leading to a persistent, elegant, and harmonious finish.
Food and wine pairings
This red wine will elevate a fine grilled cut of beef, a roast leg of lamb with herbs de Provence, or slow-cooked dishes in sauce. It will also pair beautifully with a selection of aged cheeses.
Serving and cellaring
Approachable today after decanting, this great wine has remarkable aging potential, allowing it to evolve favorably in the cellar for many years.
Rhone Valley excellence by Xavier Vignon
The estate
An internationally renowned consulting oenologist, Xavier Vignon founded his own négociant house with the ambition of revealing the quintessence of the terroirs of the Vallée du Rhône. A true artisan creator, he blends wines from rigorously selected plots with the precision of a goldsmith. His innovative approach and deep respect for the identity of each appellation give rise to exceptional cuvées, recognized for their balance and complexity.
The vineyard
"Cuvée Anonyme" is the result of a meticulous selection of old vines spread across the emblematic terroirs of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The soils, composed of famous rolled pebbles, red clays, and sands, give the grapes incomparable concentration and aromatic richness. Deeply rooted, the vines draw from this unique terroir the strength needed to fully express the typicity of their origin.
The vintage
The 2022 vintage was marked by hot and dry climatic conditions, promoting optimal ripening of the berries. The harvest, carried out at perfect maturity, yielded grapes of impeccable health, offering concentrated juices rich in color and aromas.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted with the utmost care. Vinification is carried out in a traditional manner, with gentle extraction to preserve the elegance of the fruit and the finesse of the tannins. Aging takes place partly in oak barrels and in tanks, allowing the wine to refine and develop its aromatic complexity while retaining its original freshness.
Grape varieties
Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and other traditional grape varieties of the appellation.
