Vinum

Smoky nose showing depth and complexity, black tobacco, blackberry, cassis, licorice; powerful on the palate, very dominant, drying tannins, the fruit currently in the background, a juicy acidity brings freshness; finish of good length, echoing cherry and cassis. I’m curious to see how the wine will develop with maturation.

Decanter

Great aromatics. Quite varietal on the nose: green apple, peas, elderflower, white peach and some bitter orange rind. Bright and forward, this is crisp with a shot of lemon acidity at first before settling and becoming a bit more creamy with gentle bitter edges. Jasmine, white flowers, some white stone fruit and soft creamy citrus elements. A touch waxy too. Light, elegant, nothing too much here but super easy to drink with hints of interest. Ageing 50% new oak for 6 months in barrels on lees. 3.12 pH.

Antonio Galloni

Just bottled, the 2024 Blanc de Lynch Bages is a gorgeous, refreshing dry white to drink now and over the next handful of years. Lemon peel, white pepper, mint and chalky undertones are beautifully delineated. There's a bit more Muscadelle in this year's blend, but that is not especially apparent. Instead, Sauvignon Blanc drives the feel here.

Grapefruit, vanilla, green apples, and floral notes are everywhere. The palate is equally brisk, with a vibrant, crisp display of yellow citrus and crunchy green apples, with just a hint of white peach, juicy pineapple, and white pepper that shows up at the end of the finish. The wine is produced from a blend of 77% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% Muscadelle, and 11% Semillon. 12.5% ABV, 3.12 pH. Drink from 2027-2035. 93-93 pts

Le Figaro Vin

Lively and bright on the nose, between the tangy zest of lemon sorbet, juicy white peach and the saline freshness of a sea breeze. Precise and taut, with crystalline freshness, the palate unfolds a linear, pure structure that gains in richness and indulgence as it approaches a succulent, luminous finish.

Vertdevin

(77% SB, 12% Muscadelle, 11% Semillon) The nose is fruity and elegant, with a lovely enveloping, seductive edge and some flesh. It reveals notes of pulpy nectarine, juicy pear and, more subtly, vibrant lychee, with touches of bright vineyard peach and juicy/vibrant kumquat, along with fine hints of pulpy lime and crushed green apple. The palate is nicely guided, fruity, fresh, suave, and offers a zesty backbone. It shows a lovely crystalline, floral and airy character, marked by white fruit and a fine, polished richness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of bright white peach and apple, and, more subtly, white flowers, with touches of kumquat, a subtle hint of almost exotic fruit, accents of juicy/fresh Williams pear, as well as fine hints of almost lime/yuzu sweetness. Very fine finesse in the richness/management of bâtonnage on fine lees. A wine offering a delicate saline edge, a subtle brioche/toasty note on the finish, very delicate, and a subtle tannic touch in the aromatics and structure on the finish. A great success.

The refinement and purity of a white wine signed Lynch-Bages

The property

Located at the gates of Pauillac, the Château Lynch Bages is a property that has marked the history of Médoc. If the Bages terroir has been known since the 16th century, it gained fame in the 18th century. Led by the son of an Irish citizen named Thomas Lynch, the Bages cru was recognized at the Paris universal exhibition. Entered into the fold of the J-M Cazes family on the eve of World War II, Château Lynch-Bages is one of the most beautiful references of the Pauillac appellation.

The vineyard

The Blanc de Lynch-Bages is a dry white Bordeaux wine from a 7-hectare terroir planted on a soil of Garonne gravels.

The vintage

The 2024 vintage begins with a mild and very rainy winter, leading to early bud break. The wet spring imposes a high sanitary pressure, controlled thanks to the reactivity of the teams. The dry and moderate summer promotes progressive maturation and preserves the freshness of the grapes, complemented by beneficial rains at the end of the cycle. The harvest, carried out in mid-September under beautiful sunshine, allows a rigorous selection of berries, vinified according to their profile.

Vinification and aging

Manual harvest with sorting in the vineyard and on the table. The aging is for a duration of 6 months in barrels (50% new wood), on lees.

Blend

Sauvignon blanc (77%), muscadelle (12%) and sémillon (11%).
