Description
The richness and balance of a Patagonian red wine
The estate
Bodega Chacra welcomes you to the heart of the Río Negro region, at the southern tip of Argentina. This hidden gem was brought to life in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta. The adventure began during a tasting in New York, where he enjoyed a wine that particularly caught his attention: a Pinot Noir from Río Negro. It was a revelation for our protagonist, who immediately perceived the potential these terroirs had to offer: ungrafted vines dating back to 1932, massal selections, ideal climatic conditions… And so, Piero Incisa della Rocchetta set sail for this natural treasure to craft his dream wines—nectars capable of conveying the taste “of a place on the planet,” as he puts it.
The vineyard
Bodega Chacra is rooted in the heart of the Río Negro region in Patagonia, a land born from the confluence of two rivers, the Limay and Neuquén. The landscape stretches as far as the eye can see, across plains and forests, at an altitude ranging between 290 and 330 meters. There, in the lungs of this green landscape, the estate thrives, nestled within a natural setting that comprises 24 hectares of vines.
The wine
Cincuenta y Cinco Pinot Noir comes from a vineyard planted in 1955 on a stony, pebble-rich soil, and is farmed organically and biodynamically.
Grape variety
Cincuenta y Cinco 2024 from Bodega Chacra is 100% Pinot Noir.
