Description
Château Angélus presents a case of three great vintages
The estate
Founded in 1782, Château Angélus is an emblematic Bordeaux estate located in Saint-Émilion. Spanning 32 hectares, it has been run by the de Boüard family for 8 generations. The vineyard, planted mainly with cabernet franc and merlot, benefits from a unique clay-limestone terroir on the southern slope of Saint-Émilion. The name "Angélus" comes from the bells of the nearby churches, symbolizing the estate’s heritage and identity.
The vineyard
Located on the southern slope of Saint-Émilion, at the "foot of the slope," Château Angélus’ vineyard thrives on a clay-limestone terroir particularly well suited to expressing Bordeaux grape varieties. The vines are 39 years old on average.
The case
« Vintages follow one another, yet no two are alike. That is the magic of a great terroir in constant effervescence, shaped by capricious weather patterns: each of these years writes the story of Angelus. »
True to this philosophy, the estate presents « Les Intemporels », three cases bringing together three exceedingly rare bottles that have reached beautiful maturity—witnesses to historic vintages that trace the evolution of this essential Right Bank Bordeaux property.
The case named « Les Intemporels III » brings together three recent vintages—1995, 2000 and 2005—considered one of the greatest in the contemporary history of Bordeaux wines.
