Château Clarisse 2013

This has a lightly peppery edge to the core of red currant and bitter plum fruit flavors, backed by light herb notes on the finish. Good energy, with a brambly echo. Nice effort for the vintage. Drink now. 750 cases made, 200 cases imported.

A fine and silky red with plum, brambleberry and hints of cedar. Medium body, fine tannins and a lightly chewy finish. Drink or hold.

Good volume, sweet berries, plush textures, and a fresh, dark-berry finish make this one of the top value Bordeaux wines in this vintage. From a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the wine comes from yields of 15 hectoliters per hectare and is aging in 50% new French oak. 86-88 pts

Pleasant suppleness of texture in the 2013, which retains sincere fruit and a tender palate.
