Château Liot 2023

The 2023 Liot has a light nose with dried honey and beeswax aromas. As usual, it lacks real botrytis concentration. The palate is better with decent weight and unctuosity, more than normal. Clean fruit and though not complex, it is a better Liot than expected.

Clearly a deliciously luscious texture, intense white pepper spice, honeysuckle, a touch of bruised apple that throws off the juicy stone fruits and the oyster shell finish. Husband and wife Jonathan and Marie-Amelie David took over the family estate in 2021.

Notes of pineapple, mango and passion fruit emerge from the 2023 Liot. Medium- to full-bodied, juicy and enveloping, it is animated by lively acidity and built around a fleshy core of fruit that carries through to a perfumed, elegant finish.

Light, fresh, sweet wine that is best consumed chilled as an aperitif. Drink from 2026-2037.
