Description
A fruity Saint-Emilion red wine
A Classified Growth from the Saint-Emilion appellation, the Château Pavie-Décesse comes from an area of 3.65 hectares. The vines in production are 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, and they are an average age of 43 years. Under these vines rests a rich soil composed of clay-limestone and fossil-rich limestone.
The Château Pavie-Décesse 2007 reveals a beautiful, dense colour. The nose takes time to unfold, but you can smell small concentrated black berry, fruit brandy and spice as the aromas start to aerate. The attack on the palate shows a great frankness with tight-knit tannins that avoid being austere. On the mid-palate, the wine gives a beautiful delicacy. The finish is long and quite catchy. Best to consume right now.
