Description
Characteristics and tasting notes for Euziéra 2024 Clos Constantin
Tasting
Colour
This Vin de France reveals a brilliant red hue.
Nose
Radiantly fresh, the aromatic bouquet opens with vibrant notes of raspberry, crisp cherry and wild blackberry, enhanced by nuances of violet and garrigue. On aeration, subtle touches of white pepper, dried herbs and peony further enrich the palette.
Palate
Juicy and remarkably pure, the palate stands out for a subtle tension that energises the whole. The texture, both sleek and precise, offers lovely generosity supported by fine, silky tannins. The floral, lively finish lingers with great clarity while revealing a saline minerality.
Food and wine pairing
Ideal for accompanying convivial and refined cuisine, this wine pairs beautifully with roast poultry, lamb with Mediterranean herbs or slow-cooked meats. It will also enhance sun-drenched dishes such as a Moroccan tagine, grilled meats or flavourful vegetarian plates.
Service and storage
Approachable in its youth, the Euziéra 2024 vintage can be enjoyed now and will continue to evolve harmoniously, drinking well until around 2028.
Other characteristics
This wine has a moderate alcohol level of 14%, reflecting a perfect balance between fruit ripeness and the freshness of the terroir.
The elegance and freshness of a red wine from Languedoc
The estate
Officially founded in 2017, Clos Constantin is a 15-hectare estate located in Argelliers, in the heart of Languedoc. Now at the helm of the property, Pierre Halley and Samuel Durand have combined their expertise to transform this family legacy into a true winemaking gem. Committed to an environmentally respectful approach, the estate is certified organic and is currently converting to biodynamics. Favouring a minimal-intervention approach, the owners craft authentic wines that precisely and delicately express the full richness of their terroir.
The vineyard
Spread across several small parcels around the localities of Font-Belette and Les Champs de Traversiers, the vineyard thrives at an altitude of between 200 and 230 metres within the Terrasses du Larzac appellation. The vines benefit from a cool microclimate, influenced by the Larzac plateau, and grow on clay-limestone soils scattered with sand and stones. The vineyard is managed with the greatest respect for biodiversity, with entirely hand-picked harvests.
The vintage
The year 2024 was marked by milder temperatures during the growing season compared to previous vintages. This favourable weather allowed for slower, more gradual berry ripening, promoting excellent acidity retention and optimal fruit freshness at harvest.
Winemaking and aging
The Euziéra 2024 vintage is crafted through gentle, minimal-intervention winemaking, initiated with indigenous yeasts. To preserve the brightness of the fruit, certain components do not undergo malolactic fermentation, while the carignan benefits from carbonic maceration. Aging takes place exclusively in concrete tanks, with no time in wood, in order to preserve aromatic purity and the energy of the terroir.
Grape varieties
This wine is made from a blend of grenache (50%), complemented by syrah, cinsault and carignan.
